The Project Manager, Capital Investments is an experienced project manager who combines operational work by directly engaging in major projects and project management by leading and developing his team in the execution of all projects. You will contribute to strategic discussions to define the organization's needs for current and future infrastructures. Do you have the ambition? We have the projects.

Under the responsibility of the Director, Major Projects and Infrastructure, you will be responsible for supervising a project management team composed of two (2) Project Coordinators and coordinating with external engineering firms to successfully complete the organization's major projects.

More specifically, you will:

  • Assign and track project mandates with your team.
  • Review the team's investment requests to ensure they are complete and accurate before submitting them to senior management.
  • Manage the development and execution of more complex projects.
  • Ensure the continuous improvement of project tracking methodology and best practices.
  • Recruit, train, and motivate the team to achieve business objectives.
  • Develop your team by providing coaching, training, supervision, and the necessary tools to successfully complete the organization's projects.
  • Participate, if necessary, in the preparation of project specifications, research, and select appropriate suppliers according to the projects.
  • Plan, supervise, and track the implementation steps of various projects (schedules, quality standards, critical points, cost control, etc.).
  • Ensure regular collaboration and communication among members of different multidisciplinary teams (production, quality control, maintenance, HR, etc.).
  • Regularly inform the management of the progress of the projects, measure deviations from expected performance and schedules, and propose appropriate corrective measures as needed.

General Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or other relevant training;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, including 3 to 5 years in the management of multidisciplinary projects in the manufacturing and food industries;
  • Knowledge of the principles of ‘Front End Loading’;
  • Knowledge of ‘Early Equipment Management’;
  • Membership in the Order of Engineers of Quebec (an asset);
  • Possession of a PMP certification (an important asset);
  • Experience in personnel management;
  • Bilingualism, French and English, both oral and written, required;
  • Capable of solving complex problems efficiently;
  • Excellent communicator, you are equipped with an active listening sense to effectively target the needs of your internal clients, your team, and your other colleagues;
  • Flexible, you have the ability to bounce back in case of issues and realign when necessary.
  • Outstanding planner with an excellent sense of organization, you can easily visualize the critical path of a project and plan the necessary actions accordingly while anticipating possible obstacles;
  • Possessed of leadership, you know how to rally people around a common goal and put in the necessary efforts to accomplish your mandates.
