A key role within a highly performing team

As a Product Specialist, you will play a key role in the development, improvement, and marketing of our product range, while working closely with the product development, purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and customer service teams.

Main responsibilities

Strategic product innovation

  • Identify innovative product ideas and solutions to technical challenges to maintain Cabico's competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate with product managers, product expert, and purchasing department to identify, select, and integrate new suppliers.
  • Coordinate concept testing and support prototype development.
  • Participate in product development committee activities to ensure the technical feasibility of new products.
  • Provide technical information for product specifications, coordinate technical drawings and system programming.
  • Contribute to the development of work instructions and production training for the launch of new products.
  • Estimate, analyze, and optimize the cost of new products in collaboration with the finance team and technical modifications.
  • Monitor and support the implementation of project plans on time and in full.

Continuous product improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve existing products by optimizing their manufacturability, reducing costs, improving quality, and increasing overall production efficiency.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to product technical modifications (CHIPP). Ensure the technical feasibility of product improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in the preparation of technical documentation, engineering plans, and system programming.
  • Provide technical information for production documentation and training.

Technical support

  • Provide technical support on products to support teams as needed.

We are looking for a person who shares our values of respect, team spirit, commitment, and pride, and who has the following qualifications:

  • Degree in industrial or mechanical engineering, industrial design, or 5 to 10 years of experience in the custom closet, cabinetmaking, or furniture manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of woodworking and furniture manufacturing is considered an asset.
  • Bilingual (French and English). Our new team member will be required to provide training to our clients, who primarily speak English.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and methodical.
  • Ability to establish collaborative relationships across multiple departments and functions.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite.
  • Comfortable presenting ideas or concepts to a group.
