Under the supervision of the Director – Technical Services and Projects, the technician will actively participate in the conception, estimation, and implementation of projects in electricity and instrumentation. From the initial idea to post-commissioning support, you will be involved at every stage to ensure reliable, safe, and high-performance solutions.

In addition to contributing to the realization of projects, you will play an important role in technical support for maintenance, helping to resolve issues encountered after commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Project and Activity Management
  • Take charge of the implementation of equipment installation projects, from conception to commissioning, ensuring the electricity and instrumentation aspects
  • Design effective technical solutions: select components, develop single-line diagrams, and actively participate in project development
  • Prepare and structure quotes, schedules, and technical reports, while respecting established budgets
  • Actively contribute to achieving cost and deadline objectives by ensuring rigorous project tracking
  • Collaborate in the analysis of technical issues and propose concrete and innovative engineering and project solutions
  • Coordinate the procurement of materials and services (suppliers, labor) required for the work
  • Maintain a constant follow-up of projects and maintenance activities in instrumentation to anticipate and quickly resolve issues
  • Ensure the proper functioning and evolution of programming software
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of systems and safety elements in instrumentation across different sites
  • Actively participate in the installation, commissioning, and calibration of instruments (pH, flow meter, etc.) and production equipment
  • Quickly intervene to diagnose and resolve technical problems in electricity and instrumentation, including outside normal hours when required
  • Serve as a technical reference and support the electrical maintenance team on a daily basis
  • Subcontractor and Safety Management
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and contractors on job sites and terminals, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards
  • Actively contribute to a safe work environment by rigorously applying SST rules
  • Organization and Collaboration
  • Remain available to support teams and address operational issues as needed
  • Efficiently plan your work according to priorities and schedules
  • Actively participate in the overall team performance by completing any other tasks related to the position
  • Desired Profile

Education: Industrial electronics diploma or electrical engineering technology diploma (automation and control), or professional studies diploma in electromechanics or any other combination of education and experience deemed relevant for the position.

Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in a position related to instrumentation and/or electricity

Skills: Leadership, initiative, good communication, efficient management, work under pressure, and ability to take initiative.

Other

  • French required and knowledge of English (will need to communicate with our Ontario subsidiaries)
  • Proficiency in programming software (Omron, Allen Bradley) and Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Possible travel according to projects on our sites.
