Security Systems Technician - Installations (CCQ)

This position is governed by the CCQ collective agreement.

Under the District Manager – Installation, the Security Systems Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of access control, intrusion detection, fire alarm, and video surveillance (CCTV) systems for Securitas Technology Canada clients.

The person in this role ensures the optimal installation of new security systems to meet client needs and enable them to get the most out of them. They also provide service for existing systems, including preventive maintenance, emergency interventions, troubleshooting, and repairs.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform installation, reconfiguration, removal, or relocation of products, as well as site surveys, as needed.
• Provide technical and user support by guiding clients in the use of systems to ensure optimal operation.
• Complete all required health and safety documentation, annotated drawings, and photographs of work performed. All completed work orders on the client's site must include equipment serial numbers and be signed by the client's authorized representative.
• Participate in company-required training to keep technical knowledge and skills up-to-date.
• Inform the project manager of the progress of installation work.
• Maintain an adequate inventory of parts, supplies, and equipment in the service vehicle and accurately record all materials used on work orders.
• Participate, as needed, in quarterly vehicle and warehouse inventories.

REQUIREMENTS

• Excellent computer skills; CompTIA A+ certification in progress or planned.
• Ability to quickly and effectively diagnose technical issues.
• Availability to participate in a 24-hour shift rotation, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good writing skills.
• Valid driver's license accompanied by a clean driving record.
• British Columbia Security Licence.
• This position is governed by the United Steelworkers collective agreement.
