Hours: 64 to 80 hours per two weeks

Education

Certificate or diploma from a college, cégep, or other non-university educational institution in a program lasting 3 months to less than 1 year or equivalent experience

Tasks

Assess the child's development to prepare an adapted learning plan

Bath, change diapers, and feed infants and toddlers

Prepare and implement early childhood education programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children

Maintain daycare equipment

Summarize the child's overall situation and communicate the information to parents

Lead children's activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and taking them to places of interest in the region

Encourage children to express their creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity

Involve children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts

Guide and help children develop good habits for meals, toileting, and dressing

Prepare and serve snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for dinner and naps

Observe children to detect learning difficulties or behavioral issues and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors

Establish relationships with colleagues and other community service providers for children and collaborate with them

Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, safety, and well-being of children
