Health and Safety Supervisor

As part of a major construction project to build a new plant, we are looking for a Health and Safety Supervisor (HSE) with solid experience in large-scale industrial projects.

Reporting to the project director, the person holding this position will play a strategic role in the development, implementation, and maintenance of best practices in occupational health and safety (OHS) throughout the project lifecycle. They will work closely with management, engineering, procurement, and contractor teams to ensure a safe and high-performing work environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor the project's OHS strategy.
• Advise and support management, supervisors, and contractors on best practices in health and safety.
• Actively participate in risk management and the identification of preventive measures.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.
• Contribute to procurement processes, contractor qualification, and contract management from an OHS perspective.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and incident analyses to promote continuous improvement.
• Promote a prevention culture based on leadership, respect, collaboration, and human performance.
• Support teams in achieving safety goals while respecting project deadlines and priorities.

Desired Profile

• Approximately 15 years of diverse and progressive experience in occupational health and safety.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience on major construction projects exceeding $500 million.
• Excellent understanding of project execution processes, including:
• procurement;
• contract management;
• contractor qualification;
• human performance;
• financial management;
• engineering;
• project risk management.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in team management or supervision.
• Recognized leadership, human-centered, collaborative, and results-oriented approach.
• Excellent communication, influence, and problem-solving skills.
• Already residing in Quebec.
