As a carpenter (referred to internally as "Carpenter III"), you will put your advanced skills to work on restoration and reconstruction projects that make a real difference for clients. You will perform complex repairs, lead your team, and contribute to achieving exceptional results that always meet quality and safety standards.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CARPENTER
As a carpenter, you will be responsible for the work from start to finish. You will plan your day, review the plans, and handle various practical carpentry tasks, including framing, drywall, flooring, siding, roofing, and finishing. You will ensure that every measurement, cut, and installation meets the highest standards of precision and safety. You will work closely with project managers and guide other qualified trades to ensure the smooth progress of projects. Some days, you will transform a house damaged by fire; other days, you will restore commercial spaces to be fully operational again. Every project showcases your craftsmanship, team spirit, and ability to solve problems with confidence and competence.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in carpentry or construction in the restoration field or a related sector
- Preferred certification as a journeyman carpenter
- Advanced knowledge of framing, finishing, drywall, flooring, roofing, siding, and cabinet installation
- Proven ability to read plans, apply construction mathematics, and precisely plan material needs
- Skills in the safe use of manual and power tools, with a strong focus on quality and detail
- Knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, safety practices, and costs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to support and guide others
- Proficiency with mobile devices and Microsoft Office applications
- Valid driver's license of all categories and clean driving record, as needed
- Fitness test and other safety certifications
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and participate in a rotating on-call system
- Ability to perform tasks involving material handling, lifting, climbing, and the use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, safety shoes, and other required equipment
