Mandate

The role of a social worker involves assessing social functioning, determining a plan of intervention or service, implementing it, supporting and restoring the social functioning of the individual within their environment to promote optimal development. In the course of their duties, the social worker is called upon to perform a range of activities requiring clinical judgment in varied situations within their field of practice. They may, for instance, conduct one-time social interventions (individual, couple, family), conduct social functioning evaluations to assess, orient, or refer the user to the appropriate service, in accordance with the professional practice standards of social workers. They collaborate closely with other practitioners as required by the services and sectors they are assigned to. Ultimately, they must ensure the maintenance and development of their skills to meet the needs of clients.

Replacement for 2 days per week on Thursdays and Fridays

Requirements

• Must hold a terminal university degree in social work;
• Must be a member in good standing of the Professional Order of Social Workers and Family Therapists of Quebec.
