Clinical Nurse - Day Shift - Part-Time Permanent - CLSC Côte-des-Neiges - Maternal Health

Person responsible for providing a range of nursing care in accordance with the bio-psycho-social needs of users or groups of people entrusted to them.

They assess the state of health, determine and implement the nursing care and treatment plan for users presenting complex health problems and/or varied bio-psycho-social dimensions. They provide nursing and medical care to maintain health, restore it, and prevent illness.

What you do in this role

• Assess the bio-psycho-social needs of new clients and their families using appropriate data collection, taking into account all dimensions of the person and stages of life;
• Provide prenatal and postnatal follow-up for the user/family, taking into account their experiences, needs, and the social, vulnerable, and ethnocultural context in which the client/family lives;
• Maintain within the OLO (egg, milk, orange) program the distribution of nutritional supplements to pregnant women living in a context of vulnerability;
• Provide the necessary support to the user/family to promote the optimal development of children, orient the user/family towards services and resources capable of meeting a specific need;
• Inform the user/family of the health services and programs offered by the CSSS;
• Assess, determine the quality of the mother-child and father-child attachment relationship, parental knowledge and skills. Advise and provide future parents with the tools or means to better exercise their new role;
• Assess, during a home visit, the physical and social environment, family dynamics, living conditions, and screen for problems that may harm the user/family's health and well-being;
• Provide prenatal information to parents on an individual or group basis (prenatal classes);
• Complete any other tasks related to the request of your immediate supervisor.
