As a Legal Operations Leader, you will play a key role in creating, implementing, and evolving a dedicated Legal Operations function aimed at optimizing the efficiency and performance of Legal Services. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Legal Services, American Affairs, and Global Legal Operations, you will be responsible for structuring, coordinating, driving, and evolving Canadian and American legal operations to maximize value, profits, and optimal use of internal and external resources.

In close collaboration with stakeholders, you will ensure the implementation of strategic priorities, the optimization of governance and accountability, the prioritization and management of improvement initiatives, and risk management, while contributing concretely to the evolution and value creation of Legal Services.

What you will accomplish with us

As a Legal Operations Leader, you will be at the heart of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:

  • Drive continuous improvement, automation, and digital transformation projects for Legal Services, ensuring the definition, documentation, and optimization of key processes, as well as the coordination of various stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain effective governance, define and track performance indicators (KPIs), ensure data quality and governance, and support their use for performance and decision-making.
  • Manage external law firms and other suppliers to maximize their performance, added value, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives, including the organization of the annual legal professionals meeting.
  • Support strategic planning, management of strategic and operational initiatives, preparation of management meetings, talent development, and budget planning for Legal Services.
  • Assume responsibility for sector risk management activities, including the development and maintenance of the business continuity plan, in collaboration with various stakeholders.

  • Has 10 years or more of experience in project management, advisory roles, cross-functional coordination, and tracking and delivering strategic initiatives.
  • Possesses strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Microsoft tools, including Excel (data analysis, KPIs, dashboards) and PowerPoint (executive presentations).
  • Holds a bachelor's degree in law, administration, operations management, engineering, information technology, or any other related discipline (master's degree is a significant asset).
  • Has knowledge of the legal domain and/or professional environments, as well as experience in continuous improvement (Lean/Agile), considered as assets.
  • Advanced knowledge of French and English languages, as the person will be required to produce and use documentation in both languages and collaborate daily with French and English-speaking colleagues in the context of committees, meetings, and strategic initiatives in Canada and the United States.
