Integration Developer

Position Overview

dormakaba is seeking an Integration Developer based in Montreal. In this role, the Integration Developer will design, develop, and maintain integration connectors that translate third-party ACS data models, credentials, events, and alarms to align with dormakaba's cloud API specifications, as well as support data translation in the reverse direction.

Total Compensation Range: $95,000-$140,000 annually AI Disclosure: No automated screening tools will be used during the application process

What you will do

• Work directly from partner SDKs and API specifications to implement reliable, bidirectional synchronization of cardholders, credentials, access rights, doors and event/alarm streams
• Translate between dormakaba’s API contract and each partner’s data model using clean adapter / anti-corruption-layer patterns, accounting for differences in protocols, schemas and connectivity ...
• Implement robust messaging, event streaming, retry, idempotency and error handling for connectors that must run continuously across mixed cloud and on-premises environments
• Prepare and shepherd integration through partner certification programs including the required integration, quality-assurance, security and configuration documentation

What we require

• 5+ years of proven backend development experience with modern server-side programming languages (Node.js, Python, Java, C#, or similar)
• Demonstrated experience building system-to-system integrations or connectors against third-party APIs or SDKs, including data mapping and synchronization, and experience designing, building, and scaling production-grade APIs for enterprise or high-traffic systems with measurable impact
• Hands-on professional experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and serverless architectures, including deployment and management of cloud-native services
• Strong expertise in microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and distributed architecture
• Experience with automated testing and with ... / regression testing of software that must interoperate with external systems.

Comfort with hardware and integration protocols such as IP/UDP, HTTP/S and USB, and an understanding of how physical access devices communicate.

• Hands-on experience with enterprise access control systems — LenelS2 OnGuard, Genetec Security Center / Synergis, Software House C•CURE, Honeywell Pro-Watch, AMAG or similar — and their SDKs/APIs

• Experience preparing integrations for partner certification and maintaining certified, versioned releases
• Experience with hybrid cloud / on-premise connectivity — agents or gateways that bridge on-premise servers to cloud services

Position Overview

The Integration Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining integration connectors that map third-party ACS (Access Control Systems) data models, credentials, events, and alarms to dormakaba's cloud API specifications — and vice versa.
