Solution Engineering Strategist
TechnologieDescription
At Vooban, we don't just deliver AI solutions: we help organizations learn to build, operate, and evolve them on their own.
As a leading Canadian player in applied artificial intelligence, Vooban supports major institutions in their technological transformation by sharing what already makes us strong: applied AI, agentic architectures, and industrialization of software development.
Our role is not just to deliver advanced systems, but also to share our expertise. We help our partners' teams adopt the methods, architectures, and practices that allow them to fully exploit AI in their technological processes.
Joining Vooban means integrating a team of experts who build advanced AI systems while supporting the teams around them to develop their skills. If you love building as much as sharing, innovating as much as helping teams progress, you will find a unique environment at Vooban.
Role Vision
As a Solution Engineering Strategist, you bridge Vooban's agentic product with the reality of one of our strategic clients. Instead of delivering a generic solution and waiting for it to adapt to the client's environment on its own, you go on the ground, understand their workflows, and shape the deployment around their real constraints. You notice that a compliance process blocks the adoption of an agent, you adjust the context and the structure of the inputs before it becomes a problem; you feel that a client team is afraid to lose control over an agent, you build the training that makes them pass from actors to supervisors. You work in a tight loop with developers, the Product team, and other members of your Forward Deployed Team (FDT), and directly with the client's stakeholders, from executive to field level.
You will therefore act as both a deployment strategist, coach, and change facilitator, guiding client teams towards real adoption of the solutions rather than just deployment. The success of your work is measured by this adoption in the field, not just the technical delivery.
You operate at the heart of a strategic partnership with one of our clients, in a new role whose framework is continuously being refined as the FDT learns from the field. No one dictates the roadmap to you: you diagnose the maturity of the client team, arbitrate technical choices with developers, and decide where to focus your attention first. This is an environment made for people who find energy in ambiguity rather than discomfort, and who love as much as debating an architecture choice with an executive as discussing a knowledge base engine with a developer.
The stakes are ambitious: what you build here, in this demanding context, is destined to go up the Product backlog and benefit all Vooban clients.
What You Will Do
- Design and facilitate discovery and technical workshops with the client's stakeholders (executive, operational, and technical levels).
- Understand and map complex processes and workflows to identify opportunities for agentization and deployment of solutions meeting the client's needs.
- Define the context engineering of each agent: structure the expected inputs and outputs (machine readable) by seeking information from the right interlocutors, dev and non-dev.
- Design roadmaps and strategies for deploying, adapting, and customizing the Vooban product to each client's technological environment (primarily on-prem deployments, sometimes SaaS).
- Intervene upstream of Product releases to anticipate client environment adaptation, and downstream to follow deployment strategies and measure their impact.
- In collaboration with developers, identify relevant technical alternatives, their advantages, disadvantages, and risks, and arbitrate with the client (e.g., knowledge base engine choice in a high-compliance context).
- Equip client teams with webinars, training programs, and co-developed content, in a coaching and training role.
- Diagnose the maturity, needs, resistances, and fears of client teams, and propose strategies to move them from an actor role to a supervisor role of agents.
- Activate the feedback loop to the Product: when an agent developed for a client has broader reach, propose its integration into the Product backlog to benefit all clients.
- Collaborate closely with other members of the FDT, Product, GTM, Customer Success, and Agent Dev teams.
- Master and proactively integrate AI tools into your activities, demonstrating interest and initiative to maximize their potential.
Desired Profile
- Strong technical mastery combined with real versatility: the product is designed to be platform-agnostic (GitHub Copilot, AWS Bedrock, Claude/Anthropic).
- Knowledge of agentic systems and modern AI ecosystems (LLM, RAG, agent orchestration).
- Knowledge of on-prem deployment contexts and the associated governance, security, and compliance issues.
- Bilingual French-English (mandatory, technical interactions with diverse audiences).
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in digital transformation.
- Minimum 5 years of practical technical experience in software development, systems engineering, or solution architecture.
- Proven experience in deploying technical solutions in complex client contexts.
- Experience in regulated environments (finance, insurance, healthcare): an asset.
- Comfort in regulated environments: an asset.
Cross-functional Skills
- Ability to navigate the ambiguity of a new role whose framework is being continuously refined.
- Business curiosity: genuine interest in understanding the client's business before proposing a solution.
- Empathy and active listening towards non-dev profiles (managers, executives, field teams).
- Coaching and facilitation posture in change management.
- Adaptive communication to the audience: expected behavior of all, more demanding to popularize technical choices in front of executive profiles.
