  • MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the *Manager, Transport and Immobilizations*, the stretcher bearer is called upon to:

  • Inspect the vehicle and ensure the presence of necessary transport equipment;
  • Take charge of the deceased at various locations, validate and complete all required information;
  • Communicate courteously with grieving families;
  • Apply the rituals requested by the family at the death location;
  • Transport and store the deceased respectfully and with dignity;
  • Ensure safe driving at all times, according to traffic safety rules and specific procedures;
  • Maintain the condition, cleanliness, and availability of equipment;
  • Occasionally shuttle between our branches;
  • Perform all other tasks related or collaborative to the work of colleagues.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Be comfortable with handling deceased (adaptability);
  • Attention to detail, diligence, and sense of detail;
  • Ethics, respect, and empathy;
  • Oral communication, collaboration, and teamwork;
  • Be professional and diplomatic (know how to communicate with tact and courtesy);
  • Concern for serving families.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Two (2) years of customer service experience;
  • Knowledge of English (an asset);
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
  • Ability to effectively use a smartphone and tablet;
  • Possess the necessary physical capacity for the role (physical fitness test);
  • Hold a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle;
  • The person will undergo PDSP (*Principles for the Safe Displacement of Persons*) training.
  • ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Employment Status: Occasional, on call

Working Hours: Be available to work during the day, evening, night, and weekends. The main needs are between 5 PM and 11 PM from Monday to Friday and between 8 AM and 5 PM on Saturday and Sunday. You will provide your availability one month in advance and will be called to work according to those availability and based on the organization's needs.

Hourly Rate: Between $25.51 and $29.35 per hour, to be determined according to the salary scale and experience.
