Our client, TEKNION ROY & BRETON, located on the south shore of Quebec, a leader in the North American markets and renowned for its innovation, superior product quality, and business partnership approach with customers, is seeking a TECHNICAL SERVICES DIRECTOR to oversee all technical services related to production.

TECHNICAL SERVICES DIRECTOR *Permanent, full-time – Montmagny Plant*

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the plant director, you will have the primary responsibility for managing all activities related to technical support, project management, maintenance, and environmental management. Specifically, you will:

  • Mobilize the work team and foster a work environment based on respect, collaboration, and performance;
  • Develop the skills of your team by implementing development plans;
  • Set objectives, guide your team towards achieving them, and monitor performance;
  • Work in collaboration with the operations director to ensure the smooth running of production operations;
  • Encourage the use of problem-solving techniques for managing deviations;
  • Supervise project management activities (integration of new equipment, plant layout changes, method changes, integration of new products, etc.);
  • Ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of equipment and infrastructure by managing maintenance operations optimally;
  • Conduct technological monitoring and prepare capitalization requests for investment projects;
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, environmental programs, and company requirements;
  • Participate in the preparation of the operations budget.

Requirements and Skills

  • Be recognized for your leadership-coaching and teamwork qualities;
  • Have excellent change management and rapid response to unexpected events;
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and be able to guide your team to find effective solutions;
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal relationship skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduated in engineering from a recognized university and a member of the OIQ or any other;
  • BAC in industrial engineering or mechanical engineering or any other relevant qualification;
  • More than 5 years of experience in a management position;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite;
  • Knowledge of Lean management principles in a project and engineering management context;
  • Intermediate/advanced English (30% of the time for oral and written communication with suppliers and employees).
