Data Specialist – Snowflake/ DBT

Work Mode: Remote CGI is looking for a Data Engineer to join its team and evolve the company-wide analytical practice. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and implementing world-class analytical solutions, leveraging modern technologies and innovative approaches. They will contribute to positioning data as a true strategic lever, in a dynamic, stimulating, and performance-oriented environment.

Functions and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and support robust ETL/ELT and Data Pipeline solutions
• Collaborate and coordinate with various development teams to achieve delivery objectives
• Participate in the definition, estimation, development, and delivery of robust, scalable, and high-quality data solutions
• Develop and maintain real-time data ingestion processes from multiple sources
• Design and maintain data models optimized for business intelligence needs
• Implement integrations with external APIs (Google, Facebook, Salesforce, SAP, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations such as GDPR and SOX
• Act as a leader in defining best practices and encourage creative thinking
• Qualities Required to Succeed in This Role

Qualifications and Skills

• Computer science, business intelligence, or equivalent degree
• Solid and demonstrated experience with the following technologies: Snowflake, DBT, Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, Git
• Proficient in using various programming languages such as: SQL/Python
• Understands and practices data modeling, design, and development of solid ETL/ELT data flows
• Proficient in writing, executing, and optimizing complex SQL queries
• Experience in converting business requirements into advanced data models (relational/dimensional) capable of meeting the needs of analysts and data scientists
• Experience in data profiling
• Experience in using cloud BI technologies such as Power BI or similar
• Has worked in an agile context within a data environment
• Strong interpersonal skills, motivated, and enjoys working on a wide range of challenges/projects
• Open-minded and easily adapts to new ways of working (data vault, event-driven architecture, unstructured data, self-service analytics, etc.)
• Very organized, capable of building a "game plan", and prioritizing tasks with conflicting delivery dates
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, in French and English
• Constantly proposes creative improvement ideas and loves getting hands-on with new technologies.
