Data Analyst and Business Intelligence

The analyst is heavily involved in the distribution and successful delivery of all tools, reports, and dashboards.
They support both the executive team with ideas, reports, and analyses supporting decision-making processes and the operational activities of the teams.
Functions and Responsibilities
Participate in all stages of the delivery process, including the creation, technical design, development, testing, and implementation of data analysis solutions;
Understand and analyze client needs for data analysis;
Interpret operational requirements and determine optimal data analysis solutions to meet needs;
Determine and provide data on new technological opportunities that will impact data analysis systems across the entire company;
Develop enterprise-wide data views, customized reports, and analyses for a wide variety of requests;
Participate in the development of performance and management indicators;
Participate in the creation of dashboards based on performance and management indicators to measure the efficiency of activities;
Develop analytical solutions to support strategic decision-making;
Perform strategic analyses and develop decision-support statistical models;
Respond to ad hoc requests (information requests);
Develop, automate, and present report results;
Prepare support documentation for the interpretation of data analysis solutions;
Develop, execute, and document test plans;
Develop and train users on data analysis solutions;
Participate in the incident and problem management process to identify failures and resolve them with the least impact on operations;
Adhere to appropriate standards and procedures, including change control and documentation;
Participate in other development, control, quality, and incident management activities as needed for each project;
Bring expertise and experience to deliver high-quality solutions while sharing and contributing to knowledge exchange with the team;
Ensure knowledge transfer of all components to the City's internal resources;
Apply the City's development standards;
Regularly track work, make progress estimates, and participate in all necessary management activities to oversee activities;
Qualities Required to Succeed in This Role
General Knowledge Required: Advanced analysis of user needs for data analysis;
Superior ability to identify real business objectives to meet;
Ability to project into the role of users (all levels) to anticipate needs and propose innovative solutions;
Design and implementation of solutions with modern data analysis techniques;
Modern techniques for delivering user-autonomous data analysis solutions and data exploration;
Mastery of data transformation and acquisition tools;
Competent in information taxonomy, information visualization, information modeling, and data warehousing techniques;
Mastery of data visualization and exploration tools;
French language (oral and written).
Specific Knowledge Required: Mastery of Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Fabric;
Very good knowledge and experience with Azure analysis technologies (e.g., Power BI, Azure Synapse Analytics) and Microsoft Fabric;
Very good knowledge and experience with Azure storage technologies (e.g., Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse server less database, Azure Synapse dedicated database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure SQL Database) and Microsoft Fabric;
Knowledge of Azure integration, business intelligence, and related technologies (e.g., Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Logics Apps, Azure Function, Data Gateway) and Microsoft Fabric;
Mastery of SQL language with Oracle;
Advanced mastery of SQL language with SQL Server;
Good knowledge of DAX language;
Good knowledge of M language.
Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science (computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or related discipline).
Required Experience: Note: The resource must be senior.
Five (5) years of experience as a BI Developer Analyst;
Minimum of two (2) years of experience with Power BI;
Experience in business process analysis;
Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
