Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Tasks

Use woodworking machines, such as power saws, joiners, mortisers, and lathes, to cut, shape, and form pieces and components

Study plans, specifications, or drawings of items to be manufactured

Chisel joints, assemble pieces and partial assemblies to constitute a piece of furniture and reinforce joints

Sand wood surfaces and apply a finish, stain, or polish to finished items; prepare and apply laminated plastics

Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Repair or remodel wooden furniture or accessories and related items

Read and interpret plans, diagrams, and drawings

Assemble prefabricated pieces

Plan and coordinate work
