The Technical Trainer is responsible for delivering, developing, and supporting technical trainings. Subject matters can include general daily maintenance as well as knowledge promoting skills within hydraulics, electrical, mechanical maintenance and commissioning, proper operation, and safe application as it relates to underground mining mobile equipment. Trainers are expected to support the sales and service distribution teams as well as customers to achieve the best equipment efficiency and productivity, safely. Training can be delivered remotely on customer sites, in Epiroc service branches as well as utilizing equipment simulators or other visual aids.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating Mechanical and Operator training for external and internal customers.
  • Travel inside and occasionally outside of Canada.
  • To provide simulator, theoretical and practical training for external and internal customers
  • Aid with technical issues.
  • Establish a working relationship with customers / sales team / service team / technical services.
  • Prepare training material and evaluations for upcoming sessions.
  • Assist Product Managers and Sales team with equipment demonstrations/walk around, as required.
  • As required, develop and maintain equipment training material related to product line.
  • Ensure that delivered training is meeting machines best practices and fulfills outcome requirements.
  • Maintain and update proper training documentation and record database for all training participants.
  • 3-5 years experience with the Epiroc products
  • Mining related education and or work equivalent
  • A strong technical background
  • Good communication skills with both external & internal customers is a very big part of this position.
  • Relevant experience with Epiroc underground and construction equipment.
  • Experience in and have a strong knowledge of mining best practices.
  • Good computer skills including but not limited to; Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Office.
  • A proven self-starter who requires minimum supervision.
  • Good written and spoken communication skills.
  • Bilingual with strong French language preferred
  • Outstanding people skills, ambitious and patient

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong computer skills. IE: Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes
  • Familiarity with ISO processes and procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Interpersonal abilities
  • Public speaking and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • Willingness to go underground
  • A proven track record as a strong team member
  • Fluency in both French and English would be an asset
