  • Join us in a leadership role where your expertise will shape the backbone of energy networks that communities rely on every day. As an Electrical Substation Manager, Quebec, you will support the national engineering manager – electrical substations, as well as other regional electrical substation services, by leading and growing a team of engineers and designers responsible for delivering complex and high-impact electrical substation projects and programs. You will guide and develop multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, reliable, and future-ready power solutions across Quebec and Canada.

Your impact

  • Lead the execution of electrical substation projects, from planning to completion, ensuring technical excellence, compliance with health and safety, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Manage, develop, and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous development.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, building strong relationships, and contributing to business growth through technical leadership and strategic vision.
  • Oversee engineering design, reviews, and approvals in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Incorporate risk management, constructability, and sustainability considerations into project decision-making.
  • Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and stakeholders to address complex technical and execution challenges.
  • Work closely with other engineering managers across multiple electrical substation services to support project execution and employee development.
  • Promote health, safety, and quality at every stage of projects, setting the standard for safe delivery.

The skills that set you apart

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline, along with progressive experience in the execution of transmission and distribution substation projects.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams assigned to complex infrastructure programs.
  • Proven experience in electrical substation (mandatory).
  • Hold a valid professional engineer license from the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), or be eligible to obtain one.
  • Strong knowledge of transmission and distribution substation design, protection and control, and applicable public service standards.
  • Experience working with public sector entities, regulatory bodies, and established contractors in Quebec, involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required, as the individual will frequently be involved in projects for English-speaking clients and partners outside Quebec, as well as experience in the dissemination of technical information in French.
  • Ability to combine technical depth, strategic thinking, communication, and mobilizing leadership.
  • Commitment to health and safety, quality, and ethical engineering practices, including field or construction site presence when necessary.
  • ASP Construction card (the candidate may be required to occasionally travel).

  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $147,500 - $195,400
  • MB & ON: $134,600 - $184,600
  • NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $133,200 - $176,900
