• Your role in our team

As a Project Manager for Emergency Interventions (Environment and Contaminated Soil Management), you will be responsible for managing various accidental spill projects that have affected soils, surface water, and groundwater. You will also be called upon to support the team conducting environmental characterizations (Phases II and III) and the environmental rehabilitation of contaminated sites.

The multidisciplinary UDA team includes agricultural, forestry, and geological engineers, agronomists, liaison agents with varied profiles, biologists, agricultural drainage specialists, geographers, AutoCAD drafters, geomatics and GIS specialists, environmental monitoring specialists, agricultural and forestry technicians, wildlife technicians, and administrative staff.

Remote work offered up to 100% or the possibility of working from our offices located in Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu or Quebec.

Responsibilities related to the position

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing various accidental spill projects that have affected soils, surface water, and groundwater. The Project Manager will also be called upon to support the team conducting environmental characterizations (Phases II and III) and the environmental rehabilitation of contaminated sites. More specifically:

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise emergency environmental rehabilitation projects;
• Ensure the respect of project deadlines and budgets;
• Manage interventions involving multiple subcontractors;
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations;
• Find solutions to construction site issues;
• Maintain good relations with clients and suppliers;
• Compile data and write follow-up emails;
• Make cost estimates for interventions;
• Participate in the realization of fieldwork;
• Approve supplier invoices and prepare project invoices;
• Work in collaboration with all departments of the company for project realization;
• Promote and apply the health and safety at work prevention program.

Requirements and education

• Bachelor's degree (BAC) in geological engineering, environmental science, or another relevant discipline;
• Minimum of one (1) year of relevant professional experience in the environment;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Comfortable with change and working in a dynamic work environment;
• Effective priority management and decision-making skills;
• Show resourcefulness;
• Good fieldwork planning skills;
• Autonomy, initiative, and attention to detail, ability to work in a team and in a dynamic environment;
• Possess good knowledge of provincial and federal regulations in the field of the environment (an asset);
• Advanced knowledge of the Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
• Knowledge of QGIS (an asset).
