- The Opportunity
We are looking to hire a Specialist in Procedures for Cardiac Rhythm Management Technologies who will work on the field in Montreal. As a global leader in cardiac rhythm management technologies, Abbott focuses on innovative technologies that can improve how physicians treat patients with arrhythmia.
The selected person will primarily be responsible for providing clinical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for Abbott's cardiac rhythm management technologies products. Additionally, the selected person will be responsible for providing clinical expertise and collaborating with the sales team (territory manager and regional manager) to develop business and growth strategies, while serving as a bridge between clients and Abbott through their technical knowledge.
What You Will Do
- In accordance with the company's policies, procedures, programs, and budgets, the selected person will be responsible for performing the tasks listed below and will be granted all the necessary authority to do so:
- Apply theoretical principles and creative and analytical techniques generally acquired through in-depth and detailed internal training, using the experience gained in the cardiac rhythm management technologies laboratories. Maintain specialized knowledge and stay informed about technical and clinical advancements. Identify and use the most effective and economical practices to execute processes and continuously evaluate their functionality and suitability;
- Support cardiac rhythm management technologies procedures;
- Participate in troubleshooting Abbott accounts. Improve software and computer hardware as needed. Work with the sales team to develop long-term relationships and promote business growth;
- Participate in cardiac rhythm management technology studies using Abbott products, paying particular attention to advanced mapping techniques and support these studies by facilitating the appropriate and safe use of products and collaborating to solve problems and optimize results;
- Coordinate clinical evaluation of products in accordance with Limited Market Authorization;
- Provide educational services to medical personnel and para-medical professionals on topics related to cardiac rhythm management technologies systems and Abbott's basic cardiac rhythm management technologies products;
- Ensure training of Abbott staff on products, procedures, and applications as needed;
- Contribute to clinical, training, education, and sales services as a presenter or trainer and develop training resources or technical documents on new technologies (including on competing products);
- Assist new users and provide guidance during their evaluation of Abbott's cardiac rhythm management technologies products;
- Work closely with territory managers to promote business opportunities and stimulate sales;
- Maintain your status as an expert and keep your clinical and technical skills up to date in cardiac rhythm management technologies. Product knowledge should not be limited to product features and benefits but should extend to design, development, clinical application, and competitive positioning;
- Attend conferences, congresses, and scientific meetings to ensure continuous training and enrich your product presentations;
- Maintain your expertise in cardiac rhythm management technologies;
- Obtain Abbott certification in cardiac rhythm management technologies;
- Participate in some regional/national activities, such as submitting product experience reports in a reasonable timeframe, inventory, and stock management;
- Incarnate Abbott's values and ensure that all regional activities promote a positive perception of clients towards Abbott;
- Be ready to travel in Canada to provide support services, attend training, and participate in meetings (both regional and national);
- In case of a complaint about a product distributed by Abbott, report it according to the standardized operational procedure SOP 87600 on Product Experience Reports via the EPIQ tracking system.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in nursing, biomedical engineering, or sciences
- At least 1 to 3 years of experience.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 40% of work time in the assigned territory.
The job holder must be able to communicate well in English (50% of the time), as their duties require interactions with stakeholders and colleagues outside Quebec or Canada.

- Ability to perform intermediate-level mathematical calculations (calculating ratios, rates, and percentages), create and interpret graphs, apply theoretical principles to solve practical problems, manage complex situations effectively within a limited normative framework, and interpret directives in various forms (written messages, diagrams, schedules).
- Occasional weekend travel may be necessary to attend meetings and provide support services.
