STUDENT JOB – Administrative Support Agent

To hold a student position in the public service, you must be enrolled full-time in a program of study (or part-time if you are in the penultimate or final session of your program of study)

The Ministry of Transportation is tasked with ensuring, throughout the territory, the sustainable mobility of people and goods through efficient and secure transportation systems that contribute to the development of Quebec.

To achieve this, the MTMD manages the road infrastructure that it must build and maintain. The materials used by contractors must meet high quality standards, and their compliance with the requirements set out in the plans and estimates must be verified through laboratory testing. The Montreal Laboratory analyzes the bitumens and emulsions used by all road construction sites of the MTMD, as well as the asphalt laid on most construction sites in Western Quebec.

In support of the administrative assistant, the incumbent must participate in meeting the service's needs in secretarial work, including:

  • Entering laboratory test data into appropriate systems;
  • Maintain an administrative and technical document classification system;
  • Transcribe using a computer, in the appropriate styles and forms, texts;
  • Reproduce documents as needed (photocopying and digitizing);
  • Receive and route telephone calls, provide general information, and take messages.

The minimum hourly rate is $21.63, and a 6.5% increase is added to this rate to compensate for certain social benefits.

The scale will be determined at hiring based on the candidate's experience.

  • Have a good sense of initiative and have a sense of organization.

Requirements to hold an internship

  • In addition to meeting the profile above, you must:
  • Be enrolled full-time (or part-time if you are in the penultimate or final session of your program of study), in one of the following fields of study:
  • **DEP Administration;
  • **DEP Office;
  • **DEP Secretarial;
  • Be at least 16 years old as of June 30 of the current year;
  • Be legally authorized to work in Canada;
  • Have an appropriate knowledge of French for the functions.
