Project Manager - Mechanical Engineer

Relevant to the Vice President of Operations, the incumbent of the position will oversee the improvement of preventive maintenance methods with the aim of operational excellence, prevention of premature wear, reduction of technical downtime, cost reduction, and the integration of new technologies across the entire fleet.

Responsibilities

• Propose and implement best operational practices.
• Update technical and critical plans.
• Develop a plan to reduce the environmental footprint (GES, noise, waste, etc.) through analysis and the integration of new technologies.
• Implement a continuous improvement plan in occupational health and safety at sea to provide a secure, ergonomic, and competitive environment.
• Maintain constant technological vigilance to stay informed about the best practices and maritime innovations.
• Perform calculations, analyses, and simulations to ensure the performance, safety, and durability of designs.
• Prepare and interpret plans, technical drawings, and 3D models.
• Supervise the manufacture, assembly, installation, and maintenance of equipment.
• Conduct tests, inspections, and validations to ensure compliance with standards and requirements.
• Identify and resolve technical issues related to mechanical systems.
• Prepare technical reports and document projects.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, engineering, and project management teams.
• Participate in continuous process improvement and cost reduction.

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from MIFI;
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in the maritime industry;
• Problem-solving skills;
• The ability to make quick decisions;
• A sense of planning and organizing work;
• An interest in writing documents;
• Autonomy and creativity;
• Leadership;
• Knowledge of the Microsoft and Autocad environments.
