In a context of strong growth, we are currently recruiting for several positions in estimation. To meet our current and future needs, we are building a talent bank for our various specialties (excavation, civil works, maritime, deep foundations, formwork) across Quebec projects. Our team will analyze your profile to guide you towards the mandates that best align with your expertise, interests, and location, allowing you to quickly contribute to major projects.

As an Estimator within the Civil & Infrastructure division of Pomerleau, you will play a key role in the development and success of major projects. You will actively contribute to the preparation of competitive bids by leveraging your technical expertise and market understanding. You will work on diverse projects — ranging from $1.5 million to over a billion dollars — in various fields of expertise, in close collaboration with our proposal team, partners, and clients.

Depending on your level of experience, you may also play a more strategic role in coordinating estimates, cost optimization, and supporting and developing team members.

What You Will Do

• Actively contribute to the bidding process and preparation of competitive bids
• Perform detailed quantitative estimates in materials, labor, and equipment
• Prepare and validate quantity surveys from plans and bids
• Accurately interpret plans, bids, and technical specifications
• Identify and analyze the entire project costs, including direct and indirect costs (contingencies, inflation, administration, fees, etc.)
• Review and analyze vendor and subcontractor bids during the bidding process
• Ensure alignment of estimates with client requirements and project feasibility
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with partners, consultants, clients, vendors, and subcontractors
• Participate in design-build projects and coordinate the parties involved in estimation
• Propose alternative solutions to optimize costs and improve bid competitiveness
• Contribute to the development of the partner and vendor network
• Depending on your experience: mentor and support more junior team members
• This Position is for You If You Have
• 3 to 8+ years of experience in estimation in the construction sector
• A degree in engineering, estimation, construction management, or equivalent combination
• Experience in civil engineering projects (excavation, civil works, deep foundations, formwork, or others)
• Strong knowledge of the bidding process
• Solid skills in quantity calculation and cost analysis
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
• Strong business sense and ability to propose effective solutions
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in estimation tools and software
