Founded in 1969, Rosemex / Mecar Metal Inc. specializes in the manufacture and sale of high-quality heat exchange products for the heating and ventilation of institutional, commercial, and industrial buildings.

Purpose

We are currently looking for a Heating and Ventilation Engineer to join our engineering team in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville. Reporting to the Sales Director, you will perform the following tasks:

Submission

  • Perform client project selections and estimate costs using internal software;
  • Evaluate potential submissions:
  • Quick reading of plans and quotes;
  • Establish priorities;
  • Prepare and verify submissions for standard and special CVAC / HVAC products;
  • Develop and analyze specifications, plans, and schedules to provide a satisfactory proposal according to the client's criteria;
  • Validate potential project submission deadlines;
  • Prepare preliminary material bills;
  • Create a submission number;
  • Customize material bills;
  • Evaluate manufacturing costs and time;
  • Prepare envelopes (administrative documents) in case of pre-purchase;
  • Prepare and send submissions to the client;
  • Take measurements on job sites.

Engineering

  • Master CVAC / HVAC systems;
  • Master norms and application of formulas and calculations;
  • Assess feasibility with internal departments (design, production);
  • Produce, verify, and send the required documentation for client, agent, and representative approval;
  • Produce and send release documents to the design department such as: quotes, technical documents, schedule, requisitions, product control provided by the client;
  • Perform workshop drawings and engineering calculations for approval according to the client's plans, quotes, and/or requests;
  • Perform and validate selections for workshop drawings;
  • Prepare relevant documents (approval/production);
  • Write technical documentation (quotes and approval workshop drawings);
  • Search for technical information (when required);
  • Group technical information to complete engineering (update quotes and plans according to the latest addenda);
  • Advise and provide technical support to the entire company;
  • Communicate with departments to ensure that specifications and workshop drawings are compliant;
  • Communicate with the contractor and engineer for any technical questions;
  • Send the quote for approval to the contractor/modifications upon change;
  • Prepare the Operation Manual (O&M) and replacement parts list;
  • Manage and update mandatory professional accreditations and certifications.

Production

  • Enter requisitions into ERP;
  • Complete ISO quality forms in the engineering section to ensure contract tracking and contract review;
  • Modify the purchase order according to manufacturing processes.

Continuous Improvement

  • Optimize the submission process and work methods of your department;
  • Create tools to make your daily tasks more efficient;
  • Contribute to the improvement and development of new products;
  • Set up and maintain the performance dashboard.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or knowledge of mechanical building manufacturing operations;
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position;
  • Experience in customer management;
  • Knowledge of CVAC / HVAC systems;
  • Good knowledge of computer-aided systems, AutoCAD;
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written French and English;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
  • Proficiency in the ERP system.
