Projects behind the offer 1. Supporting MRCs and other municipal authorities in the Chaudière-Appalaches region in considering ecological connectivity in their territorial planning. The nature of the support will be adapted to the needs of each territory. This may include producing maps of conservation nuclei and ecological corridors, formulating recommendations for maintaining or restoring the ecological network, integrating these elements into the Land Use Plan, and creating informational materials.

2. Implementing a large-scale regional consultation project on ecological connectivity for the Capitale-Nationale and ... regions as part of the Quebec Ecological Corridors Initiative (IQCÉ). This project, in collaboration with municipalities, environmental organizations, First Nations, forestry and agricultural stakeholders, aims to ensure that ecological connectivity is taken into account for the preservation of biodiversity.

Main responsibilities

• Support municipalities and MRCs in planning and implementing the conservation of natural habitats on their territory;
• Assist in organizing workshops for ecological connectivity consultation;
• Organize events, consultations, training sessions, and meetings;
• Contribute to the implementation of a communication plan on ecological connectivity (newsletter, press release, website, social media, video production, etc.);
• Perform operational and financial project management;
• Develop new conservation and natural habitat enhancement projects;
• Write grant applications and various partnership documents;
• Perform any other relevant tasks.

Requirements

• University degree in territorial planning, environment, or biology;
• 3 years or more of experience in a similar role;
• Experience with the municipal environment;
• Experience or interest in consultation and mobilization.

Skills sought

• Leadership, autonomy, ability to work in a team, diligence, action and results-oriented, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
• Excellent written and spoken French.

Assets

• Experience within a NGO;
• Knowledge of the issues related to the conservation of natural habitats in Quebec and the voluntary conservation legal tools;
• Expertise in environment, territorial planning, regional development, or any related field;
• Knowledge of GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS, etc.) and extensions (Circuitscape, LinkageMapper, etc.);
• Knowledge of the territory, issues, and partners in the Chaudière-Appalaches and Capitale-Nationale regions.

Working conditions and environment

• Flexible work structure and freedom of action in the role: hybrid office-remote work and flexible hours management;
• Full-time position, choice between 4 days/32 hours or 5 days/35 hours per week;
• Recognition of experience and rapid career progression;
• Competitive salary, recently updated salary grid (2026). The starting salary for the required 3 years of experience is $32.09/hour;
• 3 weeks of vacation upon starting and 4 weeks after the first year; Generous collective REER program and collective insurance;
