Health and Safety Coordinator (HSC) for Construction Sites - Mandate with Hydro-Québec - Bersimis

We are currently looking for a Senior HSC for the following mandate:

Intermediate HSC – Bersimis-2

• Position: Intermediate HSC
• Project: Bersimis-2 Power Plant
• Desired Start Date: August 3
• Planned End Date: December 17
• Project Type: Construction Site
• Rotation: 7/7 or 14/14
• Accommodation and Meals: Provided

Description: Rehabilitation of the dam and construction of a new connecting mass to link the substation to the power plant. Civil works, excavation, embankment, and concrete work.

General Responsibilities of the HSC:

• The HSC is responsible for the application of laws, rules, and frameworks related to occupational health and safety.
• He/she plays an advisory role by assisting and participating in the prevention activities of the site management team and acts as an expert in health and safety. He/she also plays a role in the development of the various project actors, including external suppliers.
• He/she is responsible for the various activities assigned to him/her in connection with the daily activities of the safety teams on site.
• Resources will be called upon to carry out mandates on power plant, substation, and transmission line sites.

Qualifications

• Must hold the Health and Safety Coordinator card issued by the CNESST.
• A thorough knowledge of critical hazards is expected (e.g., work at height, energy sources, moving vehicles, lifting operations, etc.). Training related to Hydro-Electric particularities is also an asset.
• Must possess technological skills and abilities to grasp daily information and master the tools of the Office 365 suite (Teams, Outlook).
• The candidate must also be able to input his/her prevention activities into the Enablon software.
