Full-time/Part-time: Full-time
Salary Range: $60,000-$85,000

Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Pay Scale: 12.7

This position requires a high level of linguistic proficiency. Priority will be given to candidates who speak both English and French fluently.
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Residential Mortgage Manager for a Third Party, the Residential Mortgage Loan Analyst is responsible for making credit decisions on applications within the permitted limits and in accordance with the Company's and the insurer's policies while aiming for service excellence. The analyst must apply reasonable diligence in reviewing documentation to ensure accuracy and prevent potential risk to the Company.
Your Contribution
- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with mortgage brokers to retain client loyalty to the company
- Maintains positive relationships with external partners such as mortgage insurers, appraisers, title insurance companies, and lawyers
- Makes mortgage loan decisions within the limits of the powers granted, while ensuring compliance with policies and guidelines
- Interacts with mortgage insurers, if applicable, to make credit decisions
- Ensures that pre-signing checks have been completed before signing any mortgage condition or document, if applicable
- Prepares and issues mortgage commitments with appropriate conditions in accordance with established service level agreements/execution deadlines
- Prioritizes applications and workflow to ensure consistent and reliable risk assessments while managing high volumes and focusing on service excellence
- Stays up-to-date with the latest industry knowledge, competition, and market trends
- Adheres to policies/procedures to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering requirements

- Education/Certification/Experience Requirements:
- Post-secondary education or equivalent professional experience required
- At least 2 years of experience in the mortgage underwriting field required
- Practical knowledge of computer software in a Windows environment required
- Bilingualism (French, English) required - interactions with English-speaking clients or partners
- Work Environment and Physical Requirements Analysis:
- Office environment
- Peak periods and tight deadlines
- Long periods of work without moving/while seated
- Long periods of repetitive movements (using a keyboard and mouse)
- Long periods spent in front of a computer screen
- Multitasking (e.g., speaking to a client on the phone while searching for information in a computer program)
