Working within the IT department, your role as an Operational Technology (OT) Support Technician will be to ensure the proper functioning of the technological infrastructures supporting the operations of the terminals. Collaborating daily with maintenance and operations teams, you will primarily intervene on-site to ensure the availability of industrial networks, computer equipment, and systems used in operations, in collaboration with maintenance, automation, and operations teams.
Main Responsibilities:
Support to Operations
- Provide daily technical support to maintenance teams (electrical and mechanical) as well as terminal operations;
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to industrial computer equipment directly on-site;
- Perform installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of industrial workstations;
- Ensure support for industrial computers connected to programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and production equipment.
Management of OT Infrastructure
- Administer and maintain the operational technology network;
- Install, configure, and maintain industrial switches (Cisco and Lantronix);
- Ensure the proper functioning of fiber optic and WiFi communications, including point-to-point architectures;
- Provide support for network infrastructure, including VLANs, routing, and firewalls;
- Ensure support for surveillance camera management systems.
Support for Automation Systems
- Collaborate with the automation team in ICS/SCADA environments;
- Participate in maintaining operational technology architectures according to current standards;
- Support dedicated IT infrastructure for industrial control systems.
Asset and Project Management
- Keep technical documentation up-to-date;
- Participate in the management of the computer equipment inventory and the planning of their lifecycle;
- Participate in the deployment of new IT and technological solutions.
Desired Profile
- DEC or AEC in computer science or any other relevant field (networking, telecommunications, automation, or equivalent);
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an industrial or related environment;
- Good knowledge of computer hardware and network infrastructure;
- Knowledge of industrial networks and networking principles;
- Proficiency in functional English, both oral and written.*
- Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position as it involves interactions with internal and external stakeholders outside Quebec, distributed across our network in North America and internationally.
