Your Mandate

In the course of your duties, you will contribute to the planning, coordination, and implementation of environmental projects in the mining sector, at all stages of the project lifecycle, from exploration to site closure and restoration. You will act on behalf of our clients to identify and implement sustainable, innovative, and compliant solutions to the regulatory requirements applicable to the mining sector.

More specifically, you will be required to

• Plan, coordinate, and implement environmental projects in a mining context, including environmental characterization, site restoration, and environmental issue management;
• Develop and implement site restoration and rehabilitation programs (soils, tailings, waste rock dumps, and mining infrastructure);
• Carry out and supervise fieldwork related to soil, surface and groundwater, sediment, and mine waste characterization;
• Analyze, interpret, and synthesize environmental data and write technical reports, professional opinions, and recommendations tailored to the needs of the clients;
• Participate in environmental assessments and impact studies associated with mining projects, at all stages of their development;
• Prepare environmental authorization applications and monitor the applicable regulatory requirements with the competent authorities;
• Ensure coordination with laboratories, suppliers, partners, and multidisciplinary teams involved in the projects;
• Participate in the preparation of service proposals, cost estimates, and technical proposals;
• Contribute to the identification and implementation of mitigation measures and strategies promoting responsible and sustainable management of environmental issues;
• Ensure compliance with budgets, schedules, quality standards, and health and safety requirements in the execution of mandates.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in pure or applied sciences (geoscience, geology, hydrogeology, civil engineering, chemistry, biology, or other relevant field to the environment);
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a mining environment;
• Qualified for the signatures of Section 20 of the NI43-101;
• Member of a professional order (OIQ, OGQ).

Key Skills

• Excellent knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines applicable to mine site restoration;
• Strong skills in analyzing and interpreting physical environment data (soils, waters, sediments, mine waste);
• Excellent technical writing, analysis, and synthesis skills;
• Rigor, autonomy, and initiative;
• Good team spirit and interpersonal skills.

Assets

• Experience on large-scale mining projects;
• Bilingual French/English (due to frequent interactions with French and English-speaking interlocutors related to the normal execution of tasks);
• ASP construction and SIMDUT 2015 certifications;
• Proficiency in GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS);
• Good knowledge of provincial and federal environmental assessment and authorization processes;
• Valid driver's license.
