SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
Construction and Expansion of Agricultural and Industrial Facilities | Bon-Conseil (Quebec)
Inovo Group is a growing Quebec-based food industry company, including Acti-Sol and Nutri-Expert Bon-Conseil. To support our growth, we are investing in major expansion, modernization, and construction projects for new facilities.
We are looking for an experienced individual to oversee these projects from concept to commissioning, acting as the true owner's representative to internal teams, professionals, contractors, and suppliers. If you enjoy seeing your projects come to life, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and having a direct impact on the growth of a local company, this role is for you.
Your Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will plan, coordinate, and deliver our major construction, expansion, and facility improvement projects. You will ensure compliance with budgets, schedules, quality, health and safety, and operational requirements, playing a central role between management, operations, internal teams, and external partners.
You will report directly to senior management and be called upon to manage concrete, varied, and strategic projects in an environment where your decisions will have a visible impact on production capacity, facility efficiency, and company growth.
Your Main Challenges ▸ Define project scope, scenarios, deliverables, and priorities in collaboration with management and affected teams.
▸ Develop project schedules, including phases, milestones, critical dependencies, and strategies to minimize operational impacts.
▸ Establish budgets, track actual costs, anticipate variances, and ensure rigorous management of approved investments.
▸ Prepare requests for proposals, analyze submissions, participate in contractor, supplier, and consultant selection, and ensure contractual follow-up.
▸ Coordinate internal teams, including operations, plant, maintenance, health and safety, and finance, as well as external stakeholders such as architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
▸ Perform site follow-ups, manage changes, ensure compliance with plans, estimates, quality standards, health and safety requirements, and environmental obligations.
▸ Identify risks, propose solutions, produce progress reports for management, and ensure clear communication on costs, schedules, issues, and required decisions.
▸ Oversee commissioning, project closure, deficiencies, final documentation, and lessons learned.
The Profile We Are Looking For
You are a recognized leader with technical expertise and proven experience in managing large-scale projects in industrial or manufacturing environments.
▸ Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, construction, or architecture, or DEC in civil engineering technology, architecture, estimating, building mechanics, or relevant field, combined with solid experience in construction or project management.
▸ 10 to 15 years of experience in construction, engineering, expansion, or facility improvement projects, including equipment and work method improvements, with several years as a full project manager.
▸ Experience in large-scale projects, ideally $1M to $20M or more, or in complex projects conducted on occupied sites in industrial, manufacturing, food, or commercial contexts.
▸ Experience in multidisciplinary engineering or coordination with operations considered a major asset.
▸ OIQ Professional Engineer designation, PMP certification, or recognized project management training considered important assets.
▸ Proficiency in project management, planning, budget tracking, and documentation tools. Familiarity with MS Project, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or equivalent tools.
▸ Good knowledge of construction practices, contractual management, health and safety, environment, plan and estimate reading, site follow-ups, commissioning, and project closure.
▸ Motivational leadership, listening skills, and ability to rally stakeholders (multidisciplinary teams, contractors, suppliers, internal operations, management) around concrete solutions, even without direct hierarchical authority.
▸ Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with excellent priority, stress, and contingency management.
▸ Rigor, sense of responsibility, and ability to advance files with method, judgment, and consistency.
▸ Excellent communication skills in French. Functional English required to interact with some suppliers and partners outside Quebec.
What We Offer
▸ Annual salary between $120,000 and $140,000, depending on your skills and experience.
▸ Annual bonus and $2,000 hiring anniversary bonus.
▸ 3 weeks of vacation from day one.
▸ Up to 5 mobile days off per year.
▸ Group insurance.
▸ Generous employer contribution to REER.
▸ Concrete and varied projects with a real impact on company growth.
▸ A human, stimulating, and collaborative atmosphere within a local team.
