Avocats sans frontières Canada (ASF Canada) is seeking an engaged, dynamic, and open-minded individual who wants to contribute to making access to justice a means of change to advance human rights around the world.
Location: City of Quebec (Hybrid)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Under the responsibility of the human resources coordination, the Human Resources and Organizational Development Advisor contributes to supporting and developing effective and efficient human resources management in a diverse, international, and rapidly evolving work environment. They will be responsible for various important human resources issues such as working conditions, performance evaluation, training, and employee well-being.
Main Responsibilities
- Acts as a resource person for managers and international teams on certain human resources issues;
- Develops approaches to ensure organizational consistency in human resources management practices;
- Develops and writes tools, policies, and strategies related to various human resources and institutional affairs domains;
- Is responsible for the implementation and development of global compensation policies and advises managers on compensation, classification, and salary positioning issues;
- Advises and supports managers in performance management, skills development, and contribution evaluation processes, including probation period follow-up, and supports managers in its application;
- Provides coaching to managers on their role, management posture, and conflict management;
- Coordinates human resources planning and budgeting mainly at the headquarters and participates in the integration process of new employees at the headquarters;
- Contributes to the development and implementation of the employee well-being strategy and participates in the creation of initiatives and projects aimed at supporting a healthy and harmonious work environment;
- Is responsible for the deployment of the health and safety at work strategy and coordinates the committee;
- Advises and supports the application of institutional policies, including ethics, abuse prevention, harassment, and gender equality, and manages complaint handling processes;
- Advises on labor relations;
- Performs vigilance and research activities, contributes to analyses, and implements solutions;
- Ensures the application of policies, procedures, and applicable laws to the headquarters team and field teams, when necessary;
- Contributes to the management of employee departures, including exit interviews and follow-ups with managers;

Desired Profile
- University degree in a relevant field (human resources, business administration, industrial relations);
- 5 to 7 years of experience in the human resources field, as a generalist;
- Expertise in advising and supporting managers;
- Good knowledge of laws, regulations, directives, and government policies applicable to human resources management;
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in French;
- Political sense and diplomacy in managing complex and sensitive situations;
- Active listening, empathy, and ability to build trust and collaboration relationships;
- Eligibility to work in Canada.
Assets
- Professional designation, CRHA;
- Ability to communicate easily in English and/or Spanish in a professional context;
- Experience in human resources management in multicultural and international environments;
- Experience working in international cooperation.
Working Conditions
- Indefinite-term employment;
- Three or four weeks of annual vacation, depending on experience;
