Construction et génie
ALFA MEGA INC.Saint-Laurent, QC, CAPubliée 2026-07-22
Contrat$75,000 to $110,000

Description

Contract with possibility of extension

What we do

At Alfa Mega, we design and manufacture Airvector® ventilation products.

We now want to develop internal expertise in characterizing the aerodynamic performance of our products. To achieve this, we are looking for someone who can establish a reliable simulation methodology, produce high-quality technical data, and potentially contribute to the development of our future testing laboratory.

This role is for someone who enjoys understanding how air behaves, validating their hypotheses, and building tools that will serve for a long time.

The Role

Initially, you will be responsible for developing our numerical simulation capabilities for our products.

You will be tasked with:

  • performing CFD simulations on various product families;
  • analyzing velocity profiles, pressure losses, diffusion patterns, and air jet behavior;
  • determining product performance under different operating conditions;
  • developing relationships between airflow rate (CFM), throw, range, induction, and various geometries;
  • comparing simulations to available test data to improve model accuracy;
  • documenting results and developing a reusable simulation methodology for the company;
  • collaborating with our development team to optimize products.

In the long term, depending on your interests and the project's evolution, you may also participate in:

  • designing an aerodynamic testing laboratory;
  • selecting measurement equipment;
  • developing validation protocols;
  • preparing tests according to the ASHRAE 70 standard;
  • developing new products and geometries.
  • The Desired Profile

You enjoy solving technical problems and are capable of transforming geometry into reliable performance data.

You possess:

  • a degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field;
  • experience in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation;
  • proficiency in one or more simulation software (Ansys Fluent, STAR-CCM+, SimScale, OpenFOAM, SolidWorks Flow Simulation, or equivalent);
  • a good understanding of fluid mechanics;
  • an analytical mindset and a rigorous approach.
  • Important assets:
  • experience in ventilation, CVAC, or air diffusion;
  • knowledge of aerodynamic performance testing or the ASHRAE 70 standard;
  • experience in instrumentation or test bench development.

We are open to both experienced engineers and consultants, master's or PhD students, and researchers with strong practical experience in CFD simulation.

What we offer

  • A technical role where your work will have a direct impact on our products.
  • A lot of autonomy and quick access to decision-makers.
  • The opportunity to build an engineering capability that will remain at the heart of the company.
  • An environment where ideas are quickly implemented.
  • Competitive remuneration based on your experience.
  • The possibility of continuing the collaboration beyond the initial mandate.

If you enjoy understanding physical phenomena as much as developing the tools to measure and predict them, we would like to meet you.

Salary: $75,000 to $110,000 per year

Preselection questions:

  • Do you have experience in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation?
  • Did you have proficiency in one or more simulation software (Ansys Fluent, STAR-CCM+, SimScale, OpenFOAM, SolidWorks Flow Simulation, or equivalent)?
  • Do you have experience in ventilation, CVAC, or air diffusion?
  • Do you have knowledge of aerodynamic performance testing or the ASHRAE 70 standard?
  • Do you have experience in instrumentation or test bench development?

Experience

  • mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or similar: 10 years (Mandatory)
  • Location: On-site
