Description

Taiga Motors, a rapidly growing company specializing in electric off-road vehicle technology and manufacturing, is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to coordinate our electrical/electronic engineering team and oversee the qualification, certification, and launch of electronic devices, wiring, and electrical components across all our vehicle programs. In this role, you will be responsible for approving design milestones, leading certification and regulatory work to completion, and maintaining alignment of team priorities across new product development, production support, and supply continuity. You will also drive the component compliance strategy — tracking obsolescence risks and updating the approved vendor list — and serve as the coordination point between engineering, procurement, and program management. This is an active team lead role: roughly half your time will be dedicated to technical work, and the other half to team management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the E/E engineering team (electronics design, mechatronics, and technician functions); set priorities and manage workflow
• Oversee the qualification and certification lifecycle for electronic devices, wiring, and electrical components, including regulatory support
• Approve design milestones and drive activities to close outstanding items for production readiness
• Manage certification documentation packages and coordinate with external regulatory and certification bodies
• Drive component compliance strategy: obsolescence/EOL monitoring, approved vendor list, and compliance data (RoHS/REACH)
• Serve as the escalation point for issues arising in procurement, production, or the field
• Collaborate with procurement and program management to align parts availability with program milestones
• Manage, coach, and develop direct reports across design, test, and technician roles

Qualifications

• Experience: 8+ years in electrical/electronic engineering, with experience leading projects or teams in a hardware product environment.
• Regulation and Qualification: Direct experience with product qualification, certification, and regulatory compliance for electronic or electrical products.
• Technical Breadth: Ability to read schematics and BOMs, understand PCBA and wiring design trade-offs, and engage credibly across electronics and mechanical disciplines.
• Coordination: Proven ability to manage priorities and schedules for a small technical team in a resource-constrained environment.
• Bias for Action: Strong inclination toward action and closure.
• Tools: Proficiency with Jira, PLM, and ERP tools (Teamcenter, NetSuite, or equivalent).
