CNC Programmer

Under the supervision of the industrialization department head, the programmer is responsible for programming machining centers according to customer specifications, for various metals and different levels of complexity, while respecting quality, cost, and deadline standards. They are also responsible for the proper functioning of their programs and the various elements associated with them, and ensure their development and corrections when necessary. They also ensure compliance with tooling standards and ensure the supply of non-standard tools when needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• College diploma in mechanical engineering or any other related field OR professional studies diploma (DEP) in machining techniques, combined with a professional specialization certificate (ASP) in numerical control;
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar position, in the precision machining and fabrication of complex components sector;
• Knowledge of Mastercam software; Vericut essential; Catia V5, an asset;
• Analytical, methodical, and detail-oriented;
• In-depth knowledge of multi-axis CNC machine programming;
• Ability to read technical drawings;
• Ability to work under pressure;
• Strong collaboration skills;
• Rigor, accuracy, and precision.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Perform CNC programming in accordance with tooling standards, according to the established method;
• Prepare assembly sheets, including assembly instructions and tool lists;
• Make program modifications requested by production, methods, or quality;
• Determine the manufacturing sequence of parts based on machine tools, geometric constraints, part composition, and material treatments;
• Analyze drawings and technical data with precision and rigor;
• Know and select the cutting tools to be used according to the type of machine and material;
• Optimize programming time and machining methods;
• Ensure constant compliance between drawings, specifications, and programming;
• Model fixtures and design the necessary tools for manufacturing and production;
• Participate in the development of new versions of programming software and their configuration, as well as optimize the performance of existing programs;
• Participate in continuous improvement work and contribute to the improvement of work methods and ways of doing things within the service;
• Perform any other related tasks.

Conditions

• Salary: Between $32.02 to $48.02 per hour, depending on the candidate's or candidate's experience and skills;
