Technical Training Advisor

The Technical Training Advisor is the primary resource between service operations and the technical training department. This position is responsible for the administration and maintenance of the learning management system (LMS), planning and organizing training, producing reports, and supporting managers in resource allocation.

Employment Type: Full-time, permanent

Compensation: $59,025.00 to $73,782.00 *The base salary indicated is only one component of our total compensation program. Discretionary or performance-based bonuses may also be awarded.*

• During a typical workday, YOU will perform the following tasks:
• Manage technicians' training plans.
• Administer training files and certifications.
• Produce reports on key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Support tracking the progress of learning programs.
• Administer and provide support for the learning management system (LMS).
• Configure new courses, schedules, training locations, and service dates.
• Create and manage learning paths.
• Maintain training calendars and schedules.
• Manage waiting lists, attendance registers, and participant lists.
• Administer the DPC (Dealer Performance Centre) of Caterpillar.
• Maintain the technical training SharePoint sites.
• Ensure compliance and accreditation of the Caterpillar TCDPA program.
• Review and provide demand planning reports for annual programming weeks.
• Coordinate Toromont's participation in provincial and national trade competitions.
• Promote new courses and learning opportunities.
• Serve as the central contact point for all training-related requests.

Required skills for this position

• Post-secondary diploma.
• Experience in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in administrative support and customer service.
• Customer-focused approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and consistently achieve results.
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, Power BI, and other related tools.
• Experience in administering LMS platforms.
• Excellent communication skills with internal employees and external clients.
• Experience in supporting learning and/or technical training programs is an asset.
• Availability and ability to perform occasional travel.
