Quebec: the TramCité project. At the heart of land, contractual, and regulatory issues, the division plays a strategic role in advancing the acquisitions and all the essential legal work necessary for the implementation of the tram. Our mandates are carried out in close collaboration with municipal services, the RTC (Réseau de transport de la Capitale), CDPQ Infra, the Government of Quebec, and several external partners, in an environment where innovation, rigor, and collaboration are at the forefront. To support you in your work, you can count on a team of about a dozen experienced employees, both in legal professionals and support staff. Here, we bring the City to life! We are looking for a lawyer for a permanent position in the Strategic Projects Support Section of the Public Law and Strategic Projects Division of the Legal Affairs Service. THE CHALLENGES To title of lawyer, your main responsibilities will be to: * Represent the City before civil and administrative courts, particularly in matters of expropriation; * Negotiate, draft, or revise various types of contracts and agreements, judicial procedures, opinions, regulations, and other legal documents, and provide legal opinions when required; * Perform various tasks to provide, within the framework of the realization of the project for the structuring transport network of the City of Quebec, the legal advice and support necessary for the realization of the activities and works under the responsibility of the City; * Provide legal advice to City staff on any legal matter; * Conduct any legal verification or research in relation to your responsibilities; * Handle legal files of the same nature at the request of your supervisor. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR To join the team, you must: * Be a member of the Quebec Bar and have a minimum of two years of work experience that has allowed you to acquire a relevant set of knowledge for the position; * Have recent experience in negotiation, litigation, and advocacy; * Demonstrate good ability and autonomy in managing representation cases before civil and administrative courts; * Possess a strong capacity to work in a computerized environment with various computer systems; * Skill in drafting legal or administrative documents; * Have good mastery of the French language, both spoken and written. Good mastery of the English language is an asset; * Other appropriate personal skills and qualities, such as the ability to communicate verbally and in writing, interpersonal skills, a strong intellectual curiosity, rigor, and a sense of well-done work, an excellent spirit of collaboration, the ability to manage several files simultaneously, autonomy, and a concern for customer service.
