Main responsibilities include:

  • Provide support for coordination of flight turnarounds.
  • Ensure all measures are taken to secure a safe, on-time operations of all aircraft handling services in accordance with Menzies Aviation and Airline requirements.
  • Attend flight briefings and debriefings.
  • Report irregularities, incidents, discrepancies, and potential complaints to Management.
  • Ensure that the aircraft loading is in accordance with airlines requirements.
  • The TRC is responsible for ensuring, as far as practicable, that all services are allocated and arrive at the aircraft on time and requesting the services in time to ensure Service Level Standards are met.
  • The TRC must ensure that information regarding the status of the flight or that would otherwise affect the actions of the departments, is given in a timely and proactive manner.
  • Aircraft Dispatch is a process involving the planning, coordination and post-departure reconciliation of a flight.
  • The TRC role is to organize and plan the aircraft turnaround and effectively and proactively ensure that the various activities are performed in a safe and timely manner.
  • The TRC has to ensure that the aircraft load complies with the loading instructions and that the load is reconciled exactly with the details shown on the aircraft Loadsheet.
  • Ensure the correct completion of all documents related to the Flight File and is responsible for the accuracy and reality of records stated on the documents.
  • Ensures that the documents received or issued are kept securely and in accordance with MA and Airline procedures.
  • Ensure that the airlines SLA’s are respected and maintained, and any irregularities are reported immediately to Management.
  • Collaborates with the Ramp and Passenger Service departments to perform a safe, secure and on-time departure.
  • The TRC must be aware of the latest changes / updates / memos/ briefings by checking the SLS Board and notice boards.
  • Carry out internal audit inspections via the SMART application.
  • Report any incident, accidents and near misses as per MA and customer procedures.
  • Operate equipment such as Passenger Boarding Bridges, Company vehicles, radio’s, telephones, computer equipment, and a safe and efficient manner and only once trained to do so.
  • Always wear PPE on the Ramp.
  • Obtain a Canadian Restricted Operator Certificate – Aeronautical.
  • Knowledgeable of Emergency Response rescue procedures.
  • Ability to communicate information via ground to air radio with pilots.
  • Use radio contacts to maintain operational ramp control of all flights.
  • Monitor and communication aircraft arrivals/departures and gate changes that would affect daily operations.
  • Monitor flight delays and coordinate information with airline operations.
  • Document daily log of aircraft contacts.
  • When requested, provide the crew with instructions on the ramp for loading/unloading.
  • Follow the procedures for pushback, departure and arrival of flights.
  • Knowledge of the Flight Explorer program.
  • Prepare daily reports to ensure the accuracy of information during the assigned shift.
  • Represent and communicate the mission, vision and values of the company to Ramp employees.
  • Monitor the compliance of all Menzies Ramp personnel with safety and security policies and procedures. These policies and procedures must include, but are not limited to:
  • All relevant/specific location client ramp operations programs, policies and procedures
  • All local airport security policies and procedures
  • All local, provincial and federal regulations, policies and procedures
  • Quickly address inappropriate, incorrect and/or dangerous actions and recognize correct and positive behaviors.
  • Identify potential hazards/risks and report them to Management.
  • Support the OJT mentoring program by regularly communicating with training and health and safety personnel and station management.

May respond to Station occupancy standards.

Key skills, qualifications and experience:

  • Computer literacy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate with pilots, airline operations, manager and air traffic controller, as needed.
  • Knowledge of ramp operations.
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to perform flexible shifts.
  • Airline weight and balance licenses and/or GHA will be advantageous.
  • Other requirements/qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal ability to work in Canada.
  • Computer knowledge, solid knowledge of MS Office as well as other relevant programs.
  • Previous experience in airline/aviation operations is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold all required security clearances.
  • Must hold a valid provincial driver’s license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain runway driving privileges (DA/AVOP).
  • Familiar with GOM, airline procedures, airport procedures, airport legislation.
  • Fully conversant with SGHA concepts.
  • Driven by KPI/SLA to meet customer expectations by delivering excellence.
  • Must be able to successfully complete all MA and customer training on an initial and recurring basis.
