Ventmeca is currently looking for a Steel Preparer (Day Shift)

Starting at $24/hour based on experience.

Permanent, full-time, day shift only 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

• Receiving steel, merchandise, and orders;
• Grinding and cleaning steel using an electric grinder;
• Handling pieces with overhead cranes and forklifts;
• Using a band saw to cut structural steel;
• Preparing steel pieces (cleaning, chamfering, rolling, bending, etc.);
• Assisting with plasma cutting table operation, identifying cut pieces, managing scraps and workspace;
• Conventional compressed air painting;
• Acoustic insulation of fans;
• General plant maintenance (floor sweeper, emptying trash, etc.);
• Preparing orders and fans for shipment.

Required Profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the steel industry;
• Comfortable handling a grinder safely;
• Experience with a press brake, roller, and band saw (important asset);
• Ability to read blueprints;
• Versatile and interested in performing various manual tasks;
• Ability to read a measuring tape at a sixteenth of an inch (1/16'') for cutting flat and angle iron;
• Asset: Experience as a painter;
• Asset: Forklift operator licenses;
• Asset: Experience operating overhead cranes.
• Salary: Starting at $24.00 per hour
