Stimulate sales to better promote BMO Life Insurance products and services to managing general agents (MGAs) and brokers. Provide feedback on products, processes, etc., to internal stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement of insurance products.
- Develop and implement business expansion strategy and establish and achieve sales objectives and results for the assigned region.
- Prepare sales and industry presentations and participate in managing general agent conferences as a speaker to represent BMO Life Insurance and establish its reputation in the market.
- Play a leadership role in the industry to promote BMO Life Insurance.
- Provide comments on the national sales strategy based on the potential of the assigned region.
- Analyze the distribution network of managing general agents and brokers to define contact and relationship priorities.
- Recruit new managing general agencies and brokers in the region.
- Support business expansion efforts and marketing plans of the sales team.
- Communicate with managing general agents and brokers in the assigned region to promote products and services and increase results.
- Act as a trusted advisor for the industry or assigned business unit.
- Use your influence and negotiation skills to achieve business objectives.
- Recommend solutions and implement them based on problem analysis and impact on the organization.
- Assist in the development of strategic plans.
- Identify emerging trends and issues to inform decision-making.
- Explain complex insurance concepts to managing general agents and brokers using case studies to demonstrate the value of BMO Life Insurance products.
- Share solutions related to complex insurance concepts with colleagues to foster regional team success.
- Participate in the establishment of business priorities and the order of implementation of the industry or business unit strategy.
- Perform independent analyses and evaluations to resolve strategic issues.
- Support the implementation of strategic initiatives, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure consistency among stakeholders.
- Monitor managing general agent sales results to identify potential issues and resolve them as effectively as possible.
- Design and produce regular and timely reports and dashboards.
- Break down strategic issues and analyze data and information to provide ideas and recommendations.
- Review sales messages to protect the organization and customer assets using regulatory and compliance parameters.
- Provide comments on the planning and implementation of operational programs.
- Present insurance submissions.
- Provide technical support regarding products, illustration software, and other tools.
- Manage the special submission process to ensure the response is received on time.
- Manage the important file process to grow regional business volume. Accelerate the proposal process as much as possible.
- Answer questions about insurance concepts.
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of key business unit processes, or participate in these tasks.
- Identify business needs, develop tools and training programs; provide training as needed.
- Encourage the achievement of the business plan in the assigned region.
- Promote the desired customer experience to managing general agents and brokers to increase business opportunities.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to enhance capabilities and stimulate business growth.
- Focus primarily on an industry or business unit within BMO; adopt a broader organizational orientation as needed.
- Provide specialized advice, analytical support, and technical assistance.
- Exercise judgment to identify issues, determine their causes, and resolve them within established limits.
- Work independently and regularly manage unusual situations.
- Broader tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
- Generally 5 to 7 years of relevant professional experience with a post-secondary degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Hold a life insurance license.
- In-depth knowledge of the insurance industry, insurance agencies, and underwriting principles.
- Advanced knowledge of financial concepts, including financial planning, and understanding of financial issues related to insurance products.
- Advanced knowledge of advanced sales concepts in insurance, including business applications.
- Advanced technical knowledge and skills acquired through significant education or work experience.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced influence skills.
- Advanced data-driven decision-making skills.
*As this position contributes to the success of BMO Insurance, it is eligible for a quarterly variable bonus, as well as an end-of-year bonus based on performance.*
Salary: $52,300.00 - $96,600.00
Compensation Type: Salary

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the position and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time positions will be calculated based on the prorated number of regularly worked hours. For commission-based roles, the above salary represents BMO Financial Group's target for the first year in the position.
The total compensation offered by BMO will vary based on the type of compensation associated with the position and may include performance bonuses, discretionary bonuses, as well as other benefits and rewards.
