• Certificate or diploma

• Tasks
• Prepare cost estimates for materials and/or labor
• Read plans, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
• Prepare general estimate bids (Class A)
• Prepare elementary estimate bids (Class B, C, D)
• Operate computer-aided design and drafting (CAD) systems and other computer systems
• Conduct profitability studies and provide estimate bids related to proposed projects
• Create and submit estimation reports, bid sheets, and submission forms

Communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors, coordinate with them, and consult them on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
