Stantec is seeking motivated individuals to contribute to the continued growth of our services in the areas of climate change mitigation, resilience, and adaptation. The ideal candidate will have training in the technical and social issues related to the impacts of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, the development and verification of GHG emission inventories, and the creation and monitoring of mitigation action plans in both built and natural environments.

Your Responsibilities

Within our team, you will be tasked with:

  • Conducting GHG inventories for companies, organizations, and projects.
  • Performing third-party verification of GHG emission inventories.
  • Developing climate action and net-zero emission plans to reduce GHGs for various clients, including public sector and municipal organizations, as well as private companies.
  • Participating and contributing to meetings and workshops with clients, including preparing and presenting presentations.
  • Translating complex information and concepts into high-quality reports for our clients and the public.
  • Staying informed about industry trends and extra-financial disclosure frameworks.
  • Identifying business opportunities and developing client relationships to generate recurring contracts.
  • Collaborating with other Stantec professionals from various global offices.

Your Background

Our team is looking for professionals with the following skills and training:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, atmospheric science, environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related discipline is required.
  • A combination of at least 5 years of relevant work experience and advanced studies is required.
  • Experience in quantifying and disclosing GHG emissions based on standardized protocols (e.g., GHG Protocol).
  • Certification or in-depth knowledge of relevant standards (ISO 14064:1/2/3).
  • Knowledge of ESG frameworks and the requirements of GHG inventory development programs in various industries (e.g., PCAF, SASB, IFRS S1 and S2, GRI, TCFD, CDP).
  • Your Success Keys
  • Fluent French and advanced English proficiency in both spoken and written communication.
  • Strong efficiency combined with meticulous attention to detail in report writing, data preparation, and research is essential for this role.
  • Excellent written communication, strategic thinking, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • A collaborative spirit and motivation to achieve Stantec's success.
