The Hilton Garden Inn Montréal Centre-ville is looking for a candidate for the part-time night auditor position. Under the authority of the front desk manager, the incumbent is responsible for welcoming, registering, and checking out guests. They will verify the day's transactions and balance accounts, deposits, and cash registers. They will ensure that excellent customer service is provided at all times, in accordance with the chain and company standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Verify each front desk agent's day and evening transactions.
- Process credit card transactions.
- Invoice room rates and taxes on each guest bill.
- Finalize completed day transactions.
- Create and/or print and submit required reports.
- Verify, balance, and review room availability and participate in maximizing hotel revenue.
- Responsible for the hotel and guest security during the night.
In addition to these responsibilities, they perform tasks outlined in the front desk agent job description:
- Register guests upon arrival and check them out efficiently and professionally.
- Assign rooms appropriately (rates, special requests, etc.).
- Be aware of daily groups and events at the hotel and in the area.
- Know current special rates and their applications.
- Make future guest stay reservations and register walk-in guests.
- Record, correct, or adjust guest account charges as needed.
- Know cashier procedures and be responsible for all transactions.
- Work as a team to ensure all daily tasks are completed.
- Exchange information regarding unit status, VIPs, priorities, early or late departures with the housekeeping department.
- Communicate relevant information to the team, supervisor, and manager verbally and through the logbook.
- Use telephone systems: transfer calls, manage voicemail, take messages as needed.
- Confirm, record, and execute wake-up calls.
- Responsible for maintaining the key security system.
- Handle emergency procedures for fire alarms and medical services.
- Answer guest questions about nearby amenities and services and assist with reservations as needed.
- The night auditor may be called upon to work day or evening shifts as a front desk agent.
- Perform all other tasks related to the position.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of one year of experience in a similar position
- Excellent oral communication skills in French and English, to easily understand and discuss with an international clientele
- Enhanced customer service awareness and attention to detail
- Knowledge of Hilton computer systems/platforms is an asset
- Self-sufficient and able to work with minimal supervision
- Enjoys teamwork
- Sales aptitude and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of the area and tourist attractions
- Good stress tolerance and decision-making ability
