Director of Influence and Public Affairs
AdministrationDescription
The Greater Regions are developing because entrepreneurs innovate, organizations mobilize their environment, institutions collaborate, and some people dedicate their energy to advancing the issues that really matter. That is the mission of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Rive-Sud.
Each year, we bring together thousands of entrepreneurs, executives, elected officials, and partners around a common ambition: contributing to the development of Quebec's second most important economic region.
Over the past few years, our organization has strengthened its role as a gatherer, increased its media presence, developed its capacity for influencing governments, and multiplied initiatives that benefit the business community. We are now continuing our evolution by strengthening our team and organizational capabilities.
To support this ambition, we are looking for a person who will directly contribute to strengthening our influence capacity and carry the voice of the business community to decision-makers.
Your Role
Reporting to the CEO, you will take charge of the Influence and Public Affairs function of the Chamber.
You will ensure political, economic, and regulatory watch on the Chamber's priorities, contribute to the preparation of the CEO's interventions, and lead several representation files touching on the interests of the Rive-Sud business community.
You will work in a stimulating environment where days rarely resemble each other: memorandum to write, ministerial meeting to prepare, strategic analysis to produce, or opportunity to influence to seize.
You will work closely with the management as well as with entrepreneurs, elected officials, institutional partners, and various actors in economic development.
Your Main Responsibilities
You will be notably called upon to: ensure political, economic, and regulatory watch on the Chamber's priorities; analyze the impacts of public policies and produce strategic recommendations; prepare memoranda, notes, speeches, presentations, and other positioning documents; support the CEO in the preparation of his meetings, public interventions, and representations; develop and maintain government and institutional relations; coordinate certain representation files, coalitions, and strategic follow-ups; collaborate with the communications team to ensure the consistency of public positions; occasionally represent the Chamber to external partners and organizations.
The Profile We Are Looking For
You combine intellectual rigor, curiosity, judgment, and share our ambition.
You could be the person we are looking for if you: have a university degree in political science, law, economics, public administration, communications, international relations, or a related field; have at least five years of relevant experience in public affairs, public policy, government relations, strategic communications, or representation; are recognized for your excellent writing skills and your ability to synthesize; like to analyze complex issues and propose concrete solutions; demonstrate autonomy, discretion, and excellent judgment; communicate easily and naturally build trust relationships.
Experience within a political office, ministry, association, chamber of commerce, economic development organization, or consulting firm is an asset.
Our Way of Working
At the Chamber, we believe that the best organizations give their teams the means to fully exercise their judgment.
We are looking for professionals who take initiatives, collaborate generously, and constantly seek to improve their ways of doing things.
Our culture is based on autonomy, responsibility, collaboration, rigor, continuous improvement, and the intelligent use of technology to create more value.
Why Join Us?
You will concretely contribute to the economic development of the Rive-Sud.
You will work directly with the management on high-visibility files that mobilize business leaders, institutional partners, elected officials, and decision-makers at all levels of government.
You will join an organization recognized for its ability to gather, innovate, and advance structuring projects, as well as a team that shares the same conviction: the organizations that have the most impact are those that never stop learning, evolving, and pushing their own standards.
Conditions
- Full-time permanent position (37.5 hours/week);
- Competitive remuneration, determined according to experience and skills;
- Group insurance program after three months;
- Three weeks of vacation after one year;
- Five days of personal leave;
- Office closure during the holiday period;
- Friday afternoon off during the summer period;
Monthly cell phone allowance.
Do You Recognize Yourself?
Send us your resume accompanied by a short text explaining what motivates you to contribute to the economic development of the Rive-Sud via the form.
We attach as much importance to judgment, potential, and the will to make a difference as to the professional background.
