Overview

AtkinsRéalis, a global leader in engineering and project delivery, is proud to contribute to the modernization and rehabilitation of the Îles Maligne Hydroelectric Station located in Alma, Quebec. This significant project aims to ensure the sustainability and energy efficiency of this critical infrastructure by integrating sustainable and innovative solutions. The work includes upgrading equipment, improving mechanical and electrical systems, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards.

This project is being executed under the EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Management) model, which involves close coordination among all disciplines. Special attention is given to the HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) vision to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.

We are seeking a Contract Administrator to support the administration and governance of the project's contracts. In this role, you will contribute to the success of a strategic project by collaborating closely with project teams, alliance partners, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure the fulfillment of contractual obligations, the rigorous application of processes, and the achievement of project objectives.

Under the responsibility of the Project Procurement and Contracts Manager, you will support the contractual and commercial administration of service, supply, construction, and subcontracting contracts at all stages of the project lifecycle.

Your Role *Work Location:*

  • Major project located in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region.
  • Presence required on-site more than 50% of the time.
  • Periodic travel to AtkinsRéalis offices and other project locations as needed.
  • *Contract Administration:*
  • Administer contracts awarded in accordance with project requirements, IAGC agreement, and applicable governance processes.
  • Prepare, review, and implement contract management plans, procedures, forms, and tracking tools.
  • Organize and facilitate contract kick-off meetings with contractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure tracking of contractual obligations, deliverables, bonds, insurance, guarantees, and other contractual requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of contract tracking, changes, claims, risks, schedules, payments, and deliverables.
  • Prepare and issue contractual notices, letters, and official correspondence.
  • *Change and Claim Management:*
  • Administer change management processes in accordance with established contractual mechanisms.
  • Participate in the analysis of change requests and associated commercial impacts.
  • Maintain change records and ensure tracking of approvals.
  • Support dispute prevention and resolution strategies.
  • Contribute to the analysis and management of contractual claims.
  • *Commercial and Payment Management:*
  • Review and analyze payment requests, invoices, and progress claims.
  • Validate payments in accordance with applicable contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure tracking of contractual withholdings, bonds, and guarantees.
  • Collaborate with project control teams for provisions, commitments, and financial forecasts.
  • Participate in the preparation of monthly performance reports.
  • *Governance and Collaboration:*
  • Work closely with project teams, construction, engineering, project control, quality, health and safety, and legal teams.
  • Participate in coordination, governance, and contractor follow-up meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, project procedures, and regulatory obligations.
  • Support the continuous improvement of processes, tools, and contractual models.
  • Promote collaboration, transparency, and integration principles in an IAGC environment.
  • *Audit, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement:*
  • Participate in internal and external audits related to contractual activities.
  • Ensure traceability and quality of contractual documentation.
  • Contribute to the identification and implementation of lessons learned.
  • Participate in the development and improvement of contract management templates, procedures, and tools.

About You

  • University degree in administration, construction management, engineering, law, procurement, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in contract administration, contract management, or commercial management on major projects.
  • Experience in infrastructure, public transportation, energy, industrial, or heavy construction sectors.
  • Experience on collaborative, alliance, EPCM, or PPP projects is a significant asset.
  • Strong understanding of contract management and commercial principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex contracts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
  • Collaborative spirit and ability to work in multidisciplinary integrated teams.
  • Knowledge of contract and project management systems (Unifier, Aconex, Procore, JD Edwards, Oracle ERP, or equivalents) is an asset.
