What will you contribute to the team?
The Flight Control Laws/Stability and Control (FCLaws/S&C) team is responsible for performing flight characteristics analyses to ensure the quality of the aircraft's maneuverability. Key activities include the design, development, and verification of electrical flight control systems (Fly-by-Wire - FBW) for the next generation of Bombardier aircraft. Thus, the team contributes to the development of all aircraft, whether new, modified, or derived. Finally, it supports the maintenance of the navigability of in-service aircraft. The S&C team actively participates in flight test activities and interacts closely with regulatory bodies to ensure safety and compliance with navigability requirements.
- Evaluate the aircraft's flight characteristics
- Prepare and support wind tunnel and flight tests
- Plan and support flight and simulator tests, followed by data analysis and documentation
- Analyze and process simulation and flight test data
- Plan and execute computer or pilot simulations to evaluate flight characteristics in order to assess the effects of design changes and failures or to contribute to aircraft certification
- Write and review reports demonstrating compliance with flight characteristics according to navigability regulations
- Support production and flight qualification
- Support the development and modification of simulation models
- Define aircraft design requirements (flight qualities, sensors, actuators)
How will you thrive in this role?
- You hold a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral (PhD) degree in Aerospace Engineering
- You must have a minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant experience in the field of aircraft stability and control
- The candidate has a good understanding of aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and a basic understanding of aeroelasticity, aircraft design, and structures/systems
- Knowledge of navigability regulations is an asset
- The candidate must have good programming skills
- Knowledge of Windows and UNIX operating systems, Matlab/Simulation, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint are assets
- The candidate must have good oral and written communication skills
