Mechanical Designer, it's vague. In our reality, it's a person who will be able to take on the mechanical design of various projects and materialize the concepts into physical machines, from ideation to the assembly of the equipment. The person will need to be able to complete the full mechanical design by working with the team, then carry out the necessary tests and trials to de-risk the projects and advance the concepts. A creative person who won't be afraid to get their hands dirty and be able to switch to solution mode to address problems.

Requirements

• DEC or BAC in Mechanical Engineering
• Good mastery of a CAD software
• Bilingual FR-EN (functional)
• Excellent technical skills
• Minimum of 2 years in mechanical design (excluding internships)
• Manual skills (assembly, fabrication, testing)

Asset

• Experience in mechatronics
• Intrapreneurial spirit
• Knowledge of the FUSION 360 software
• Interest in PLC programming
• Work Environment:
• Hybrid
• Good periods of remote work when the focus is on concept generation and advanced design.
• More in-person periods when we switch to prototyping, assembly, and “fine tuning”.

Responsibilities

• Participate in brainstorming meetings
• Generate concepts and popularize them
• Design and fabricate prototypes and test benches
• Design various tools and equipment:
• Conveyors and handling systems
• Tools and grippers for robotic arms
• Adaptation of existing machines
• Assembly, inspection, and quality control fixtures
• Perform layout planning of parts
• Assist the project manager in writing technical documents for the client
• Accompany the project manager during client visits
