Reporting to the foreman, the incumbent is primarily responsible for the diagnosis and repair of our Merlo, SkyTrak, and Snorkel branded equipment. At Manulift, you will have the opportunity to perform a variety of tasks, ranging from inspections to maintenance and repair of complex electrical and hydraulic systems.
As a Shop Mechanic, you will benefit from continuous training, coaching, and even have the chance to use your creativity while working on unique projects across more than 50 different equipment models!
Main Responsibilities
- Complete preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of equipment while maintaining a very high standard of safety and quality;
- Electronically search for parts, technical manuals, and other necessary information to complete work orders according to the requirements of manufacturers and customers;
- Prepare equipment according to established standards;
- Perform safety checks on equipment;
- Issue recalls and service bulletins;
- Work as a team to perform larger repairs;
- Communicate with the foreman about delays in repairs and other challenges you may face;
- Ensure that work registers are kept up-to-date and organized;
- Keep the workspace clean, organized, and well-maintained;
- Perform any other related tasks.
Requirements and Desired Skills
- DEP in mechanics (construction equipment, heavy vehicles, agricultural, or related fields) or a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience;
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electricity, and electronics;
- Comfortable reading various schematics (electrical and hydraulic);
- Excellent diagnostic skills, therefore a high level of comfort with daily computer use;
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team;
- Strong communication skills and ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships;
- Excellent priority management and be organized, motivated, and meticulous;
- Ability to stand out by your results;
- Customer service-oriented.
