Description

This position is essential to the success of our retail stores. Store Associates work closely with wholesale and retail customers to determine their needs, answer their questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend the right solutions. Store Associates are also responsible for quickly resolving any customer concerns and ensuring maximum customer satisfaction, staying up-to-date on product features, and maintaining high quality and visual standards for products and the store. Store Associates are tasked with providing excellent customer service while consistently meeting the store's sales targets.

What is the procedure to get started?

Step 1 – Submit an online job application

Step 2 – Virtual Interview

After evaluating the submitted applications, the selected candidates will be invited to take a digital video interview through HireVue, our recruitment partner. The interview will include some behavioral questions.

You will have the opportunity to record and complete your video interview at any time and from anywhere! Although you can take this video interview according to your own schedule, we require that this step be completed within seven days following the receipt of an invitation.

Step 3 – In-Store Interview

Your video interview is reviewed by a member of our recruitment team and the candidates selected will be invited to meet with members of our team in a store, in a wholesale branch, in a floor covering establishment, or in a delivery service center.

Salary decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each position, which will impact the actual salary level within the indicated salary range. The salary range indicated for this position takes into account a wide range of non-discriminatory factors considered in salary decisions, including geographic location, overall skills, experience and training, licenses and certifications, as well as other business and organizational needs.

  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
  • Assist customers in person and on the phone by determining their needs and presenting appropriate products and services
  • Establish productive, trust-based relationships with wholesale and retail customers
  • Process sales transactions accurately and in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Track and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals
  • Keep accurate records and work forms up to date
  • Retrieve appropriate products from the sales floor or warehouse
  • Add shades and mix products, as needed, according to customer specifications
  • Place products on shelves and set up displays
  • Clean store equipment
  • Load/unload delivery trucks
  • Help with deliveries, as needed
  • Maintain assigned areas stocked and presentable
  • Stay up-to-date on available products and present available options
  • Comply with inventory control procedures
  • Suggest ways to improve sales

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be at least seventeen (17) years old
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license
  • Must be able to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks, as well as carry up to 23 kg (50 lb), sometimes up to 32 kg (70 lb) with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in French

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have at least a high school diploma or a General Adult Education Certificate (CAEC)
  • Have at least one (1) year of experience in a delivery, retail, or customer service position
  • Have work experience in the sale of paint and related products
  • Have work experience using tinting and mixing equipment
