Stantec is seeking motivated individuals to contribute to the continued growth of our services in the areas of climate change mitigation, resilience, and adaptation. The ideal candidate will have training in the technical and social issues related to the impacts of climate change on the built environment, as well as the integration of climate change risks into lifecycle management and asset plans, and resilience.

Your Responsibilities

Within our team, you will be tasked with:

• Participating in projects to assess the nature and severity of impacts on the built and natural environment.
• Supporting other climate change adaptation team members, including the preparation and drafting of documentary analysis, literature reviews, and reports.
• Conducting climate analyses, such as establishing regional climate profiles, and interpreting them for risk assessment.
• Assessing the main vulnerabilities of infrastructure to climate change based on schematics and information grids.
• Collaborating with other Stantec professionals from various offices across the global organization.

Your Background

Our team is looking for professionals with the following skills and training:

• A bachelor's degree in engineering or sciences, such as engineering, geography, environmental sciences, urban planning, or a related discipline, is required.
• Experience of 1 to 3 years in consulting, climate change, or a related field is an asset, with technical skills in the design and/or operation of infrastructure in the public and/or private sectors, or in the fields of climatology or engineering.
• Knowledge of the challenges related to climate change at the global scale and the tools used to conduct climate analyses and assess climate risks, such as the PIEVC protocol, ICLEI BARC, Canada's "Climate Lens" guidelines, or other risk assessment frameworks.
• Your Success Keys
• Perfect mastery of French and advanced English skills, both spoken and written.
• Excellent efficiency combined with meticulousness in report writing, data preparation, and documentary research is essential for this role.
• Excellent written communication, strategic thinking, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Additional skills in RStudio, Python, and GIS applications, or data processing tools (Access, PowerQuery) are an asset.
• Must have a collaborative spirit and be motivated by Stantec's success.

• Availability for occasional travel, both in Canada and abroad.
